Can anyone be listed?
Those who are listed within this database have met a certain criteria which provides safety and raises the quality of life of those living with celiac disease. For example:
- Only those food and medicinal products that are tested to meet gluten-free standards will be listed.
- Only restaurants that have completed NFCA’s GREAT Kitchens training for provision of safe and tasty gluten-free food will be listed.
- Only healthcare providers and facilities trained to recognize undiagnosed celiac and support and manage those with celiac and/or following the gluten-free diet will be listed.
What is the purpose of these listings?
Consumers, providers, and the marketplace need a reliable resource to find each other. Prevalence of celiac disease has increased fourfold in the U.S. since the 1950s, with the current estimate at 3 million Americans.
I know a restaurant, medical facility or healthcare provider that is not listed.
